Retirement in Monaco

If you are employed in the Principality of Monaco, you contribute each month to the basic pension scheme (CAR) and supplementary pension scheme (CMRC). These contributions allow you to acquire pension points throughout your career.

Please note

  • Since 1 January 2024, CMRC has been the supplementary pension scheme in force in Monaco.
  • Periods worked in Monaco before 1 January 2024, which were previously managed by AGIRC-ARRCO for supplementary pension purposes, are in the process of being transferred to CMRC.
  • If you have worked in France (mixed career), these periods will continue to be managed by AGIRC-ARRCO for supplementary pension purposes, and will not be transferred to CMRC.

2- Understanding my Career Statement:

The balance of your pension points, presented on the Career Statement, is updated once a year on the annual closing date of 30 September.

For the year 2024, your updated Career Statement will be issued in July 2024. It will include the points acquired as at 30 September 2023, as well as those periods known on the date of issue..

  • How do I check my balance of CAR and CMRC pension points:
The first sheet of your statement presents the summary of the points acquired for your pension:
    - CAR summary:
Number of CAR points acquired on 30 September 2023
    - CMRC summary:
Number of CMRC points received from AGIRC-ARRCO on 1 January 2024
  • How do I consult the details of the periods and points transferred to the CMRC on 1 January 2024:
At the end of your statement, you will find a detailed appendix covering the periods and points that have been transferred by AGIRC-ARRCO to CMRC on 1 January 2024.

Please note:

  • As regards your supplementary pension: AGIRC-ARRCO and CMRC have coordinated to facilitate continuity of information on your rights.
  • The transfer of AGIRC-ARRCO points and periods to CMRC will continue throughout 2024.
  • If you worked in Monaco in 2023, the points acquired during this period will be transferred to CMRC before the end of 2024.
  • During this transitional period, it is possible that your statement may be incomplete and that certain periods do not appear on your CMRC career statement, or that they still appear on your AGIRC-ARRCO career statement
  • As your situation changes you will receive the corresponding information letters in 2024.
  • 1 CMRC point = 1 former AGIRC-ARRCO point

  • To help you with this process, you can download the career correction request form and follow the instructions on it:

IMPORTANT:

  • If you have already applied for a career correction with AGIRC-ARRCO before 1 July 2024:
The rights concerned will be transferred at the end of 2024 and will not appear on the CMRC appendix to the Annual Career Statement issued in July 2024.

You will not require to make a new request to the CMRC, even if your request for correction is still being processed by AGIRC-ARRCO. A duplicate application may lengthen processing time.
  • As regards requests for career corrections from the Service Info-Carrière (CMRC):  For technical reasons, requests for correction will be processed after the final transfer from AGIRC-ARRCO to CMRC, which will take place at the end of 2024.
